The Art of Bellydancing
Bellydance, formally known in Arabic as raqs sharqi meaning “dance of the East”, is a timeless and culturally rich art form with roots and heritage mostly from Egypt. Dating back to the late 19th century in Cairo when the earliest incarnation of this dance began. Modern dance influence met traditional Egyptian folk dances and thus raqs sharqi was born.
